

Arthur Fisher died peacefully at home on Sept. 12, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87. The funeral will take place on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 12 noon at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd. in Livingston, N.J. Born in Catskill, N.Y., on June 29, 1925, the son of William and Helen Fisher, Arthur grew up in Newark, N.J. He graduated in 1943 from the NYU School of Commerce with a degree in business administration and then served as a flight officer and bombardier in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Upon his return from the Army, Arthur began working for the Motor Club of America. He was an active member of Congregation Oheb Shalom for more than 50 years. Arthur's main love was his family, and he is survived by his beloved wife of more than 56 years, Esther. Arthur is also survived by his children, Sharon and David Fisher of Olney, Md., and Nancy and David Waldenberg of Livingston, N.J., and by his six cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Aaron and Leah Fisher and Todd, Samantha and Emily Waldenberg. He is also survived by his brother, Herbert; a sister, Miriam, predeceased him. Arthur was a cherished uncle, cousin and friend to many.
