

Barbara Ann Gillette, born on April 1, 1960, in Orange, New Jersey, passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 65 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. A resident of New York, Barbara was raised in Livingston and Short Hills, NJ.
Barbara graduated from Millburn High School and went on to earn an A.B. degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in Art History from Harvard University, followed by an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
Barbara was a long-time resident of Manhattan's East Side, where she found joy in the city's museums and galleries, often walking miles through the city and Central Park. She was a voracious reader and an avid traveler. Known for her warmth and outgoing nature, Barbara was devoted to her family and was a deeply caring friend.
She is survived by her mother, Marcia Gillette; her brother, Richard Gillette, and his wife, Ellen Oakman Gillette; her sister, Nancy Gillette, and her husband, Pete Malinoski. She also leaves behind her niece, Rebecca Gillette Brondfield, her husband Max Brondfield, and her nephew, Aaron Gillette, his wife, Danielle Golden Gillette, and two great nieces and one great nephew.
Family and friends are invited to attend the services at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston, New Jersey. The family will receive guests on February 13, 2026, from 10:15 am to 10:45 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am, which will be live-streamed at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/120007.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Frick Collection or The Morgan Library & Museum, both located in New York City.
