Later on, he also obtained a Master of Business Administration from Farleigh Dickinson University.
Benjamin served in the United States Army and then in the Army Reserves for several years. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant and then worked as an engineer for the Army as a civilian for 37 years at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey.
Benjamin married the love of his life, Harriet, in 1966 and they were married for 54 wonderful years. They started a family and had two sons, Barry and Jonathan. Benjamin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and son-in-law.
