

Born and raised in Belleville to the late Lena (Passannanti) and Gaetano (Dan) Ippolito, Mella lived in West Caldwell before moving to Fairfield 16 years ago.
She worked as a quality control inspector for Peerless Tube in Bloomfield for 37 years, retiring in 1992.
Mella was devoted to her church, St. Anthony of Padua, in Belleville, where she was a lifelong member and spent years volunteering at Bingo. Through the years she enjoyed being in a bowling league, dancing, playing bingo and going on trips to Atlantic City.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Gialanella (husband Thomas) who she raised as a single mom, dear sister Livia Pettinato (husband Frank) and the late Anthony Ippolito, Katie Romaniello, Patsy Ippolito, and Joseph Ippolito, and was the cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039.
Services will commence with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Belleville, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 10:30 am followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ 07936.
