

Dr. Daniel Glass, of Morristown, NJ, died on February 13th. He was 88 years old. He was a devoted son, a loving husband, a caring and supportive father and grandfather, and a respected professional. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and integrity.
Dr. Glass was born on December 1, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from high school at age 16, he went on to graduate from the College of the City of New York at age 20. Thereafter, he attended the Columbia University School Dental and Oral Surgery, receiving his DDS in 1952.
From 1952-1953, Dr. Glass served as a dentist in the Public Health Service, based in New Orleans. Then, from 1953-1955, he served in France with the United States Army Dental Corps, holding the rank of First Lieutenant. After his Army service, Daniel returned to New York City to attend the Columbia University School of Orthodontics, graduating in 1957.
In late 1957, Dr. Glass moved to Morristown, and started the orthodontics practice he operated for 30 years. He was a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, as well as the American Dental Association. From 1969-1970, he served as President of the Tri-County Dental Society, spearheading that organization’s support of water flouridation.
Dr. Glass was a member of the Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael for 51 years, and a member of the Morristown Kiwanis Club for 25. He also devoted untold hours to helping others, including decades of service with Meals on Wheels.
Dr. Glass is survived, and will be deeply missed, by his wife of 54 years, Peppi Glass, his children Julie, of Potomac, MD, Nina, of London, England, and Jason, of New York City, a granddaughter, Delilah, and a brother, Richard Glass, of San Diego.
The funeral will take place at Bernheim-Apter on Monday at 10AM. The interment will take place at Mt. Lebanon in Glendale, Queens.
