One of my favorite pictures!  My uncle was instrumental in my personal development.  He single-handedly developed my love of music (classical) and I will never forget him.  I think of him every day and miss him.  Love to Ruth, Stephan, and my Aunt Sherry!

I was saddened to hear about David’s passing.  David was most definitely one of a kind. Beyond the hard shell and at times intimidating knowledge of every subject under the sun, was a heart of gold. Once David offered you a meticulously crafted afternoon espresso, you knew you were in!

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dave's passing.  Although he was my boss in my latter years at PSEG Global, our relationship was one of true friends.  Dave's sometimes tough exterior concealed a heart of gold.    He rewarded those who performed, but did not suffer fools.

We first worked together on the KIAC project -- it was a difficult assignment to develop and build a cogen project at NYC's major airport, but we succeeded.     Other challenges followed, most successful due in no small part to Dave's acute business sense.

You always knew that with  Dave in charge you would enjoy fine food, fine wine and fine companionship.  

Rest in Peace, Dave.  You will be missed.

So sad to learn of Dave’s passing. Dave was my manager in the Mid-90s at CEA. His business sense was only surpassed by his acerbic wit and his humanity— I still recall Dave’s hearty laugh (and his growl.) Rest in peace friend.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Dave's passing. I worked for Dave for many years during the 1990s, and he was a remarkable man with a sharp mind. We all appreciated his honest approach and his willingness to point out what needed improvement. Dave was not only my mentor but also a friend who often invited me to his home for dinner when I returned from Asia, even after my time working for him at PSEG. I will miss Dave. My thoughts and prayers are with Sherry, Ruth, Stephan, and all of Dave's loved ones during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the cherished memories and the love he shared with all of us.

I was so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing.  I had lost touch with him but think of him often. I worked for Dave as a young financial analyst at CPC International (now part of Unilever) back in the early 80’s.  Our group consisted of a diverse, opinionated, and spirited group of engineers and analysts who were identified as individuals of high potential.  We had just lost our prior supervisor to a promotion and I remember the first day we were introduced to Dave as our new boss. Flowing handlebar mustache, salt and pepper hair, oversized glasses, and a smelly cigar in his mouth.  To a person we all thought, “what in God’s name have they hired?”  But our questions rapidly disappeared as we got to know Dave.  

With an office right next door to Dave, I became a convenient foil for many of his observations on the group, but always enjoying his witty responses to my provocative kidding.  When I questioned his ability to select fine wine, his response was “Mr. Fastiggi, I would share some of my wine with you, if it were not a case of casting pearl before swine.”  Classic Dave, incredibly quick on his feet but always good natured.  

I never met a person who was such a great conversationalist.  He could speak authoritatively on everything from college basketball and professional wrestling, to the ballet and opera.  And his business skills were extraordinary, particularly when interacting with white-shoe lawyers who I witnessed being frustrated to tears when unfortunately placed opposite him at the negotiating table.  

As I got older and had departments of my own to run, I always made a list of every boss I had (which later numbered into the thirties) to ask myself who was the best and why? Dave consistently ranked number one owing to his intelligence, mentorship, fairness, work ethic, an expertise in handling all types of personalities, and the enduring fun of working with him.

Starting in 1988 I worked in CEA's Ridgewood office as an employee of their subsidiary, Combustion Power Co.  I knew Dave, but never worked with him. Regardless, I heard many stories about how "tough" he could be. After CEA sold CP I joined CEA and found myself directly reporting to Dave as a Project Developer.

He suggested we get to know each other during a walk along the Saddle River which flowed behind the Ridgewood office. This was a long, heartfelt discussion during which we shared our frank opinion of each other's strengths and weaknesses.   I had never had such a discussion before!  It formed the basis of a very productive, friendly, and professional  relationship.

I learned much about the  non-technical aspects of project development from Dave.  As a former high school debate team captain I also thoroughly enjoyed doing mental combat with Dave. What a supple mind!

Rest in peace Dave...see ya again.  My sincere condolences to Sherry and the children.

We will always remember David as a remarkable person and as a dear friend. David and Sherry had been coming to The Wilburton Inn for many years, and became close friends of our whole  family.  Whenever they visited, always staying in their favorite room, we shared dinners, wines and delicacies and many happy celebrations year after year.  David was always dignified, an eager conversationalist, an expert in many matters, but especially in celebrating life with style. I will treasure our memories as highlights of my experience as an innkeeper. 

Thank you  to Sherry and family for sharing so many happy moments together. David will always be remembered fondly by our family and the Wilburton team.

My deepest condolences to the Seabrook family on David's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Dave for several years in the mid to late 1980's at CEA.  I interviewed him when he applied to CEA for a position. I was impressed with his intelligence and business acumen and recommended to Art Nislick ( the President of CEA) that we hire him, which of course we did. It turned out to be a wise decision as Dave made substantial contributions to the growth of CEA.

I had the privilege of working with David for many years at PSEG Global. We affectionately called him "El Abuelo" because he embodied so much for our team: leadership, mentorship, guidance, intelligence, occasional sternness, and unwavering friendship. I cherish the countless memories of traveling with him to South America and Europe. He was like a father to many of us, and the memories we shared are endless. I still treasure the wooden horse he gave us with my son's name when he was born, and we moved to New Jersey from Florida in 2004. David was always incredibly proud of his family and spoke about them often with great affection. God bless his soul. My warmest hugs to Sherry, Ruth, and Steve.

We have warm memories of spending Christmas eve with David and Sherry and the kids, enjoying their elegantly-appointed home, drinking David's choices of fine wines, eating delicious Chanukah goose prepared by Sherry, and revelling in stories and strongly-worded opinions so often initiated by David.
David was tough, caring, and quick to stand his ground - at times critical and demanding but always stimulating, thought-provoking, and rapidly defending those who he thought could use that help.  Wishing the best for Sherry, Ruth, and Steve for the future.

I worked with David at PSEG Global for several years, where I found him to be a great guy who gave the best and expected the best from all of us. He was an important part of our Team and shared our successes with the best wines! My condolences to his family from Louisville, KY. God Bless!

To say David was one of a kind is an understatement.  David had a heart of gold that he protected in a crusty shell.  He did not tolerate fools (except me) and he was always in search of The Best - and he knew The Best when he saw it or heard it or tasted it or sipped it.
Whether it was sharing a dover sole or a special wine from his exquisite wine cellar, we loved having The Best with him and Sherry.  David was brave and courageous, accepting the indignities and pain of health problems with a desire to not worry others and to  be positive and uncomplaining.  He was a class act and he leaves behind a class family.  My heart goes out to Sherry, Ruth, and Stephan as you navigate a world without David, but with his taste and values very in tact. I worked with Dave for 9 years at PSEG GLOBAL in Ridgewood. He was a great advocate for the team and for the success of our projects and the company.    My condolences to his family.

I’ll remember many enjoyable evenings of dinner, good wines and ballet.
