Dr. Adler grew up in East Orange, N.J. and graduated from East Orange High School, Dickinson College, Temple University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Adler was a well-respected orthodontist in N.J. practicing in Edison for over 45 years until retiring at the age of 79. Dr. Adler was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy for over 10 years both on active duty and as a reservist. During this time he had been deployed to Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Dr. Adler loved children and often went out of his way to help them. He founded a free cleft-palate clinic at J.F.K. Hospital in Edison, N.J. He had a positive impact on countless young lives and truly made a difference by changing them for the better.
Dr. Adler is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lucille Itzikson Adler and his children; Paul S. Adler, Craig M. Adler, Julie A. Robinson, his daughter-in-law Linda A. Abrams-Adler, and his grandchildren Hailey Robinson and U.S.A.F.A. Cadet Scott F. Adler. He is also survived by his nephew Jonathan S. Druckman, his nieces Georgia Melendez and Susan Perotta-Druckman and his great-nephews Daniel Druckman and Adam Druckman, as well as nephews Robert Friedman, Daniel Fishler, David Fishler,
Dr. Adler was a consummate adventurer and athlete, who completed his bucket list which included sailing, skiing, flying, fly fishing, biking, and traveling. He truly loved life and its varied challenges. He was a kind and compassionate man with a multitude of long-time friends who along with his family will miss him immeasurably.
