Joan Gehl, a resident of West Orange, passed away on June 15, 2022 at the age of 102. She was married to the deceased Dr. Sidney Gehl and was widowed decades ago. Ms. Gehl is survived by her children, Carolyn Fefferman, Ginny Kunken (&Fred), by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Kunken (&Michele), Stephen Kunken (and Jenn Thompson), David Fefferman (& Jessica), Stephen Fefferman (&Liza), and Julie Jacobs (&Matt), and by 10 great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her steadfast devotion to her family and her unyielding determination and courage. Respected for her professional expertise and integrity as an appraiser of antiques and other valuables, she pursued her profession into her 90s.
A funeral service for Joan will be held Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. The family requests all attendees wear masks in the funeral home. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 12:30 PM at B'nai Jeshurun Cemetery, 1351 Lower Road, Elizabeth, NJ 07208.
