Lawrence Aryea Kaufman passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the age of 85 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born in Lakewood, New Jersey, to the late Seymour and Esther Kaufman, both of blessed memory. Larry is survived by his wife, Anne, his children, Brian (Mary Ann) Kaufman, Gregg (Usha Puligandla) Kaufman, and Julie (Alex) Betancur and was the proud grandfather to his 8 grandchildren, Owen (Marielle), Andrew (Anna), Eric, Tyler, Harry, Aidan, Griffin, and Jack, and his two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Arthur. He is also survived by his younger sisters, Judie (Michael) Van Glish and Gail (Ben) Klein.
Larry would often tell his family, “If it’s to be, it’s up to me.” While short and sweet, the sentiment has carried great weight with each member of the Kaufman family. His wisdom will live on in his memory.
The family will be receiving guests for Lawrence on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, New Jersey 07039, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge Township, New Jersey 07095.
