

Marshall Sherman passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2017. He was born on January 10, 1942, in The Bronx, NY. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Renee Sherman. Marshall was the proud father of three daughters: Robin Shainberg (Andrew) of Short Hills, NJ; Suzanne Kaplan (Kevin) of New York, NY; and Stefani Alcosser (David) of Short Hills, NJ. Marshall’s five grandchildren were his pride and joy: Jake, Scott, Ava, Eli and Lea. He also leaves a brother, Dr. Howard Sherman of Scottsdale, AZ. Marshall was a long-time resident of Short Hills, NJ. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid New York Rangers fan. Marshall served as President of Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, NJ; President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation; Chairman of the Parent’s Council at Washington University in St. Louis; and Chairman of the Charles T. King Student Loan Fund at Millburn High School. Marshall touched so many lives and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday July 5, at 10:30 am, at Temple B’nai Jeshurun, 1025 South Orange Avenue, Short Hills, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Temple B’nai Jeshurun; Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation – New Jersey Chapter; or St. Barnabas Medical Center Development Department (Designated to Cancer Center).
