

Marvin A. Sachs, a prominent New Jersey trial attorney and longtime partner at Sachs, Maitlin, Fleming, Greene & Wilson, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He was 94.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, Mr. Sachs built a distinguished legal career marked by leadership and service. He served as President of the Essex County Bar Association and was a longtime Trustee of East Orange General Hospital. Deeply committed to his community, he also held roles as President of Jewish Vocational Service and Chair of the Lawyers Division of the Jewish Federation of MetroWest.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Sachs was a classically trained pianist with a particular love for Chopin. He was an avid Mets fan, enthusiastic traveler, golfer, wine connoisseur, and devoted admirer of Frank Sinatra.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Sachs; children Wendy Sachs Bond (partner Eric Garland) and Eric Sachs (wife Marji Sachs); grandchildren Ben Sachs, Lauren Sachs, Alex Bond, Matthew Bond (fiancée Lindsay Gulics), Lucia Pasquariello, Sophie Diekmann, and Ellie Diekmann; stepchildren Amy Pasquariello and Henry Diekmann (wife Carrie Diekmann); and his younger brother, Charles Sachs. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Numark Sachs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WILO NJ (https://mywilo.org), an adult autism housing community close to Marvin's heart and home to one of his beloved grandchildren.
Marvin lived with gusto, led with conviction, and leaves behind a legacy as vibrant and unforgettable as his favorite Sinatra lyrics.
A funeral service for Marvin will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 11:00am at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. The family will be receiving friends from 10:15am to 10:45am. The burial will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Dr, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07095.
