

Born in Hackensack to John Lamparello, Jr. and the late Judith (Pletsch) Lamparello, Michael grew up in Rutherford and lived in Nutley before moving to Belleville in 2002.
He graduated from Rutherford High School in 1988 and went on to receive a degree in Computer Science from Rutgers/ NJIT.
He was married for 26 years to his loving wife and partner in crime, Christine (Raimo) Lamparello, and together they had two sons Anthony and Vincent (Alessa).
Michael or “Mikey lamps” as he was known, was a trumpet player and leader of the Garden State Brass Ensemble and the horn section leader of the Infernos Band and American Rapture Band. Mikey was a founding member of the Somers Dream Orchestra and could often be found playing with many community bands, orchestras, and ensembles.
He had the honor of playing at Carnegie Hall and playing TAPS in Arlington National Cemetery. His most cherished memory was playing on the Spanish Steps with the Infernos and the Rome Police Band.
Mike was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America serving as a camp counselor and Cub Scout leader. He was also a Special Olympics bowling coach.
In addition to his wife, children, and father, he is also survived by his sisters, Sandra Lamparello and Leeann DeSomma (Damien); his stepmother, Helene; and many nieces, nephews, in laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, bandmates, and good friends.
Visitation will take place at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 4-8 pm.
The funeral will commence at the funeral home on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 9 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church in Rutherford at 10:30 am and the interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
