Morris was born in Lod, Israel, on March 23, 1956, to Holocaust survivors Batya and Jozef Glazer, z”l. Morris was the youngest of three siblings—brother Asher and sister Pnina, z”l. His family emigrated from Israel to the Bronx in 1963. He quickly learned English and did well in school, skipping multiple grades in both junior high and high school. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School prior to studying accounting at Lehman College.
Morris’ first job was at a supermarket, a job he enjoyed and spoke about for many years. He spent his career working in financial services, where he helped clients with their retirement plans. He loved helping people—not only his clients—save money and plan for their future. He worked hard and was successful throughout his career. He retired in 2015 due to health issues.
Morris met the love of his life, Monica Siegel, on July 10, 1977, on a blind date. Within one week, Morris told Monica he would marry her. While Monica did not immediately agree, they were married less than one year later, on June 25, 1978. They lived together in Hartsdale, NY, before moving to Pleasantville, NY, where their son Josh was born. They moved to Dix Hills, NY, in 1986, where their daughter Allison was born soon after, and where they lived for the next 34 years.
Morris’ family was the top priority in his life. He is survived by his wife Monica, son Josh and daughter-in-law Jaime, daughter Allison and future son-in-law Nestor, and grandchildren Cooper and Lev. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his wife and kids, and that feeling only grew as his family grew.
Morris’ funeral will be held on Monday, January 8, at 11:00 am Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel (68 Old Short Hills Road in Livingston, NJ), officiated by Rabbi Karen Glazer Perolman. Interment will follow at Sharon Gardens Cemetery (273 Lakeview Avenue in Valhalla, NY).
