Mort was a very close friend of my grandfather Charlie for over 70 years until his death last year. I remember him being a very nice man.

Mort Segal came into my life when I met his boyhood friend, Merrill Pollinger. I will miss Mort, his warmth, honesty and wonderful values of life. I will miss talking to you & most of all, being in your company! Love forever, Lois Pollinger

A friend of mine for the past 40 years.  It was his father, the legendary Jack Segal, who mentored me and brought me into the National Conference of Personal Managers.  I met them both around 1985.  How strange and wonderful it is to have had friends who were father and son and was friends with both into their respective, late 90s.  Jack was 98 , and Mort was 96.  They come from a wonderful family, though at somewhat of a distance when I moved from NYC to North Carolina (yet, with a closeness) with whom I am still in touch.    He was a fabulous raconteur and gave about 150 talks about his experiences being a manager and booker of talent in the heyday of the Catskills, having over 140 acts/night performing at various Catskill venues on a given Friday and Saturday night, for decades.  They gave starts to the careers of people such as Joan Rivers and Buddy Hackett.  We spoke several times a year, most recently only a couple of months ago, and always saw each other on Facebook.  Mort Segal, like his father, was a wonderful, warm, and welcoming man whose spirit and energy were way younger than his years.  I'm going to miss him a great deal.  My sincerest condolences to multiple generations of his family.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mort's passing.  He was such a wonderful addition to our Four Seasons Community for many years.
His energy and enthusiasm for bringing people together will be greatly missed.
Our prayers and deepest sympathies remain with Judy and their family.
