Phyllis Layne (nee Goldner), 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held 10am, Monday, Dec. 2nd at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd., Livingston, NJ.
Phyllis was born in Newark and was a longtime resident of West Orange and Cedar Knolls. Phyllis was a lover of music, theatre and art. She wrote, produced, directed, and performed shows as fundraisers for Women’s B’nai Brith and the West Orange Synagogue. She also enjoyed playing piano, singing, traveling, and painting beautiful pictures. Phyllis is survived by her children, Cindy and her husband Paul; Kathi and her husband George and her grandchildren, Jeffrey and Allison. She is also survived by her brother Leonard Goldner. She will be remembered always for her vivacious spirit, her love of life and the arts.
