

Born and raised in Hornberg, Germany she settled in Fairfield in 1950.
Ruth and her late husband, Salvatore, were the owners of Gothic Designers, where she worked as the bookkeeper from 1965 until her retirement more than 15 years later.
Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband Salvatore (Sam) Malfitano, parents Christine (Woehrle) and Paul H. Unger, a son Paul Malfitano, and two grandsons J.P. Malfitano and Jack Hagelin.
She was survived by her children, Christa Arend, Diana Taylor, Monica Malfitano, and Charlotte Hagelin; son in law Roy Hagelin; brother Kurt Unger and his wife Lorre; grandchildren Shannon, Candice, Christopher, Brett, Jesse, Jaime, and Christina and their spouses; and great grandchildren Conner, Damian, and Phoenix.
Visitation will take place at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2-6 pm.
Graveside services will be offered by Reverend Jeff Markay in the Fairfield Reformed Church Cemetery, 360 Fairfield Road in Fairfield on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 9:30 am.
