Sandra, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a full and generous life devoted to family, education, and service to others.
Sandra was the devoted wife of Neil, who predeceased her. She was married for 53 years and they traveled the world together. She was the cherished mother of Evan, Andrew (wife Patty), and Emily (Thomas). She was a loving and guiding presence not only to her children, but also to her six grandchildren — Yitzchok Zev, Ariella, Madeline, Luke, Diana, and Carolyn — and to her three great-grandchildren, Noah, Zohar, and Mika, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.
Sandra graduated from James Madison High School in Brooklyn, where she attended with fellow student Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and later graduated from Brooklyn College, continuing her lifelong commitment to education and learning.
For 30 years, Sandra dedicated her life to teaching as a kindergarten teacher, touching the lives of countless young children at the very start of their educational journey. Teaching was her calling, and she approached it with patience, kindness, and heart.
Sandra believed deeply in giving back. She was a devoted volunteer at the Stickley Museum and taught English as a second language. She was generous, compassionate, and always willing to help those around her.
Known for her strength, warmth, and love of life, Sandra was both a firm and loving presence to those who knew her. She lived fully, cared deeply, and left a lasting impact on her family, her community, and the many lives she touched.
Sandra will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, her generosity, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind in her family and in all who knew her.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11am at the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039.
