

Sheldon Halper, 81, passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. Born in Newark, NJ, Mr. Halper lived in Clark, NJ for the past 55 years. After graduating from Weequahic High School in Newark, he joined the US Army where he served as a photographer in the mid 1950’s. He then worked in the family business, Halper Bros. for over 30 years before starting his own business, Cobweb Collectibles, at the age of 50 and maintained that business during the remainder of his life. He was an avid antique car collector, belonged to the Antique Car Club of America, and was a long time member of Temple Beth Or/Beth Torah.
Mr. Halper was the beloved husband of Jane for 58 years, loving father of Michael (Laurel), Andrew (Alison), and Lisa, devoted grandfather of Alexander, Zachary, Jordan, Bennett, and Jesse, and cherished brother of Audrey Fitzer (Edward) and Gloria Moslowitz.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. Interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Halper’s name to Temple Beth Or/Beth Torah, 100 Valley Road, Clark, NJ, or The American Diabetes Assoc., or The American Cancer Society.
