Dr. Stanley Kern 85 of West New York, New Jersey, formerly of South Orange died on June 26, 2013. Born in Newark, New Jersey Dr. Kern graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood, NYU, and Jefferson Medical School in Pennsylvania. He was a Forensic Psychoanalyst for the New Jersey Department of Correction, as well as a professor at UMDNJ while maintaining a private practice in South Orange. Dr. Kern was president of the Tri-State Psychoanalytic Society and the New Jersey Psychiatric Assocition.
Dr. Kern was the devoted husband of Allison (nee Kimberg) the loving father of Sue Kern Gelinas, Andy Kern, stepdaughters, Leigh and Debbie Kimberg and the brother of Dr. Howard Kern. He also leaves his “favorite” son-in-law, Ken and his grandchildren, David, Laura , Aidan, Sam, Abby , Meghan, and Danny who were everything to him.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM Friday at B’nai Abraham Memorial Park in Union, NJ.
