

Susan was born in Passaic, NJ on July 19, 1964 to Erwin and Judith Hack and graduated from Wayne Valley High School. She received her undergraduate and masters degrees from Rutgers University. She worked as a recruiter for an executive search firm. Recently, she had started a side-career writing romance novels and her most recent was the most successful of her 12 published books.
Susan enjoyed dancing, music, and writing. Susan had a gift for truly understanding people and gaining their trust. She always inspired others as a service-oriented individual by connecting with friends who might be dealing with problems and always cheered them while getting them to focus on the best solution. Her greatest joy was watching her daughter Abigail succeed in her personal growth, academics, music, and the start of her career as a Mental Health Educator.
Susan started dating Richard five years ago and quickly became welcomed into the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club family, which she truly loved and made many wonderful friends. Along with Richard, she leaves behind her daughter, Abigail Bresalier, two brothers Evan Hack (Diane) and Alan Hack (Isadora), and two nephews Daniel (Brianna) and Gabriel Hack.
The funeral service will take place at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039, on April 23, 2026, at 11:00 am, with a live stream available at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/121721. The family will be receiving guests from 10:15 am to 10:45 am. The burial will follow at King Solomon Memorial Cemetery, 550 Dwasline Rd, Clifton, NJ 07012.
