Alan "Al" Rae Frame, age 78, of Livonia, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Al was born to Rae and Florence Frame in Detroit, Michigan on April 13, 1946. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (nee McCorry) for 47 years. Beloved father to Sarah Frame and cherished father-in-law to David Walton. Proud grandpa of Emma, Violet, and Charlotte Walton.
Al was part of the first graduating class of Franklin High School in 1964. During his high school years, he excelled in sports such as football, baseball, and basketball. He also wrote for the student newspaper and covered different school events, including sports. He went on to attend Schoolcraft College where he played on the school's basketball team and then Eastern Michigan University. His forty-year professional career consisted of working for Jacobson's Department Store, Fretter Appliance, and AJM Packaging, where he served as the Director of Transportation for several years. Al adored sports throughout his life, especially University of Michigan football. He was an avid golfer who went on several golfing excursions, one of his favorites being to Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club. Al was also known for being a big supporter of newspaper journalism, and was a lifetime subscriber to The Detroit News & Free Press.
One of Al's favorite authors was Dr. Wayne Dyer, whose book "Your Sacred Self: Making the Decision to be Free," greatly impacted his life when he read it along with his daughter Sarah. This poignant Dyer quote exemplifies his philosophy of life: "Circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him."
One of the most important traits about Al was his unwavering kindness and generosity. One of his greatest joys was devoting his time to his granddaughters and family. Al was an animal lover, treating the late Miles the Bichon Frise as a fourth grandchild.
A visitation for Alan will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM.
