Dear family,  you mom was always a sweetheart to me. She went out of her way to say hello from across the room and not just with a wave.  I always loved her and thought she was so full of love and life.   I told Paul over the years how special she was.  We weren’t close as in seeing each other but she left a kind memory when you did see her and your father at Italian functions.  God bless your family.  She will be remembered always. Love. Mrs. De Luca was the most amazing women I have ever met, she was kind to everybody and had so much love to give. They raised a beautiful, respectful family who are also amazing people. Mrs. De Luca is a one of a kind person and I truly believe she was my angel from the very beginning, I looked forward to Thursday night pasta night and Friday nights at the club so that I could see her and Oliver my two favorite people. She always made me smile and she made me feel so loved, it was like I was part of her family, like I was one of her granddaughters and that feeling was the greatest feeling ever. So I am so very sorry for your lose and you are forever in my heart I love you so much Mrs. De Luca, you and your family.  

I first met Almerinda around 2001 soon after elected as Salem Township Supervisor.   The DeLuca construction company facility was located nearby the Township Hall.   I first knew a little about the DeLuca Company in 1956 after I returned home from Army Service and found their wholesale orders to the Roperti Turkey farm helped the turkey farm expand and become successful.
   When I met Almerinda, I was interested in trying to get some work done for the township in building a Village Green Park and gazebo next door to the the township office to preserve the rural atmosphere of the township.  There was an old house on the premises that had to be removed. 
I few day later I saw the old house and basement walls being dug up, and to my surprise,  it was Reggie DeLuca operating  the digger.   Then, on his own, he had the company lay the foundation and sidewalks to the gazebo.   He handled other construction that was needed to finish the park.
When speaking to Almerinda or Reggie about  financial payments, i explained I had sufficient donations from other businesses and residents to pay for some of their work, they refused any payments.
When elected to Township Supervisor I was able to convince Reggie to run for Trustee since I knew his experience in construction work would be helpful to the township.  He is still a member of the elected township board.
During the years I have known Reggie and his wife Linda, we have had many visits.   One was during their daughter's 18th birthday when I sat with some of the friends and relatives, and conversation was in Italian in a dialect I  could understand.  It reminded me of my Mother and Father who emigrated from Italy in the 20's when we had friends (pi'zanos) over for visits.   The memories were so great, it brings tears each time I think of it.
I could go on, knowing Reggie and Linda and how they have helped make my life worthwhile living since the loss of my wife 25 years ago.


Grandma, I can’t even begin to describe how much I miss you. I miss hearing your voice, feeling your hugs and walking next door to have a glass of wine and chit chat with you. You were so kind, understanding and loved unconditionally. You are truly an angel to anyone you’ve met throughout your life. I couldn’t be more grateful for the big, beautiful family you, with Grandpa, raised and the values you instilled in all of us. Nothing made you happier than simply being with your family. We all find comfort knowing you are now reunited with Grandpa watching over us from above. 

Your generous heart, I will always carry it in my heart. I love you so much 💕

Grandma, I am still in shock. You were taken too fast and too soon, just like Grandpa. But I find comfort in knowing you are back with him watching down on this big, beautiful family you created. I miss you so much- your endless love, selfless acts, and never-ending cooking. I will miss our Fridays at the Club and big family dinners at your house. I will cherish those memories forever. Give Grandpa the biggest hug for us! I love you ❤️

To the Grandma that gave endlessly, had the biggest heart, incredibly selfless, always put everyone else first, raised the most beautiful Italian family with Grandpa and one of my best friends. I will miss our lunch dates at Cantoros, you always holding my hand and telling me everything will be ok, and our Friday night family dinners. I hope to be as loving, giving and selfless as you.  Your love for our family was endless and I will forever cherish that. I miss and love you so so much. 

I met your parents years ago at the Highland Field Trial grounds … the Wolverine Trial was always a must.  They were loved by all, and deservedly so … their hospitality was always on display, they made everyone feel welcome, and they exemplified what the sport is really about.

We would like to give our deepest condolences to the family of Almerinda DeLuca. We were so saddened to hear of her passing. Marinda was a beautiful, loving and caring person. She did so much for everyone. We will never forget all the wonderful and delicious food she’d bring to the Wolverine Field Trials held on Mother Day Weekends. She and Oliver were always smiling and so gracious to us all. We will never forget the love and happiness she brought to us all. Rest In Peace Miranda with your loving Oliver.

I remember what a happy and hardworking lady your mom was. Raising four children with so much love and of course, homemade pasta, and then off to work every day, your mom had a full schedule.  She always had a smile and a kind and  quiet word to say. No harsh words were a part of her personality...just joyous love that spilled over and reached so many in her lifetime.  That love will live forever passing on through the generations. Though the voice is still, her spirit lives on. May God comfort all of you in the days ahead. Memory Eternal.

Quante estati abbiamo trascorso insieme in quel di Cancello in Italia dove tutta la famiglia si riuniva e tu, Zia, preparavi il pranzo con pietanze così buone che solo tu sapevi cucinare. Quanta allegria e quanto affetto donavi a tutti noi. Un abbraccio forte forte Zia e che tu possa essere in pace vicino al tuo unico e solo amore, Zio Oliviero.

To my dearest Mom, my life is forever changed now without you, looking out my kitchen window now feels so empty, my phone not ringing with your name on it hurts me, walking into the house I grew up in just isn’t the same, the smell of your cooking isn’t there now, your hand in my hand is now cold, I miss the light in your eyes when I walked in but most of all I miss the words “I Love You” come out of your mouth.  The day you passed mom I stepped outside for a minute and out of nowhere the sun shined so strong on my entire body  and I felt a sense of warmth, I knew you were with me and always will be with me and the gorgeous family you and dad created together.  I’ll do my best to keep my strength in honor of you both and live life to the fullest! Thank you for a beautiful life and when it’s my turn I’ll look forward to life ever after with you both again. I am so sorry to hear of Marinda's passing.  My most sincere condolences to her family.  Growing up,  Marinda and I shared some fun times.  I always looked forward to our families visiting with one another.  We shared young teenage giggles and secrets and was so proud when she asked me to be in her wedding party.  I am so sorry she is no longer with us but am sure she is happy to be with her only love Oliver.
