

Anthony “Tony” John Cibor, age 79, of Livonia, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 at his home in Livonia. Beloved father of Rochelle “Rocky” Cameron, and Nicole (Joe) Charnley; Proud grandfather (Dzia Dzia) of Madelyne, Kassidy, Jack, Drew, and Ciara; dearest brother of Agnes Ritz, and cherished brother-in-law to Deenie Cibor, Kateri Dupuy, and Therese Terns.
Tony was born October 16, 1946, in Detroit, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Francis (Struzik) Cibor. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1964 where he excelled in academics, on the baseball field, and on the basketball court. He received the scholar athlete award his high school senior year. Tony then attended Wayne State University where he graduated in 1969 with a Bachelors’ of Science in Business Administration. He landed his first job at Cadillac as a buyer and then moved to a sales position in 1983 at Joe Schmidt Sales. After retirement, he worked for Reading Resources creating Leveling Libraries at local elementary schools.
He married his wife Micki in 1968. They enjoyed 56 years together making countless memories and creating traditions with their friends and family. Tony was an extraordinarily devoted and supportive son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always there to lend a helping hand, offer a listening ear, and invariably tell a joke to make you laugh. Tony never missed an event including grandchildren’s theatrical productions and sporting events, weddings, birthday parties, couples card games, and golf outings. He always brought positive energy and fun to every event and gathering.
Tony will always be known for doing cartwheels and dancing at weddings, performing magic tricks, telling jokes, relaying funny stories, watching black and white YouTube videos, reading the newspaper, playing games with his grandchildren, asking trivia questions, playing cards, listening to his favorite songs over and over, giving his family nicknames, watching Scooby-Doo, and singing Sto-lat at birthday parties. In relation to sports, he loved to shoot pool, enjoyed coordinating and playing in the annual Cibor Open, and reveled in watching college football and basketball, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers on television.
Tony was a devoted Catholic and a parishioner at St. Colette for over 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Frances Cibor, his wife, Micki Cibor, his brother Ray Cibor, his brother-in-law George Ritz, and his niece Michele Ritz Jahs.
Tony’s family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, March 6, 2026 with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48154. A Funeral mass will take place on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 AM (in state at 9:30AM) at St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Rd. Livonia, 48152. Burial of his ashes will be at a later date.
