Arthur is the loving husband of Gloria and the beloved father of Catherine Ann Alto, David (Michelle) and Richard (Rochelle) Prowse. He is the grandfather of Heather Smith, Taina Stanger, Thomas Becker and Kerry Prowse and the brother of Agnes Steiner and the late Doreen Simmons and the late Audrey Rickard. Art is also survived by his “adopted” son and neighbor Mark Conway.
Memorials may be made, in Art’s honor, to the Michigan Humane Society or to the Detroit Rescue Mission.
Friends may visit Art's family Friday July 8, 2011 from 4 pm until 9 pm and Saturday July 9, 2011 from 10 am until his funeral ceremony at 11 am at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
Art will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
His family asks that memorials be made in his honor to the Michigan Humane Society or the Detroit Rescue Mission.
