Barbara A. Baker

Barbara Baker, 69, of Farmington Hills (formerly of both Livonia and Dearborn Heights), passed away Monday, August 23, 2021. Barb was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 30, 1952 to Walter N. Weeks and Marjorie A. (Arsenault) Weeks, the first of their four children. Barb graduated from Riverside High School in Dearborn Heights in 1970. It was during high school Barb met the man who turned out to be her future husband, Brad Baker. After her education, Barb began her career with Michigan Bell. She retired in 2007 from AT&T where she excelled in various leadership positions, to care for her beloved husband until he passed. Brad's journey gave her a passion to want to help those with crippling ailments, and she joined Elder Living Construction in 2011, eventually becoming CEO, and later launching two new companies (Transitions Remodeling and Baker Kitchen & Bath). These new ventures blossomed into a new chapter where she positively impacted many lives within the construction community.

In her spare time Barb enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, singing, entertaining for friends and family, and spending cherished time with her grandson, Alex. Many hours of her time were devoted to volunteering for Alzheimer's Association, Habitat for Humanity, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter, Lauren Baker; son, Christopher (Carrie) Baker; grandson Alex Herron; brother, Bruce (Jo Ann) Weeks; sisters, Debbie (Randy) Rodriguez and Sandra Williams; mother in law, Betty (Perosa) Baker; sister in law, Kathy Baker; and brother in law, Christopher Baker.

In addition to her parents, Barb was predeceased by her husband Stephen "Brad" Baker.

Family and friends may visit Monday, August 30, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 West Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Visitation continues on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral procession to Parkview Memorial Cemetary 34205 Five Mile Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48154, where Barb will be laid to rest.

Following the burial service, luncheon will be at One Under 35780, Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48154.
