Barbara June Henry, born March 23, 1927 - passed October 22, 2016, was five months shy of her ninetieth birthday. She was a beloved wife of Charles, the loving mother of Ron and Janet (Joe) DePasqualin, grandmother, and great grandmother. The joy of her life was her family and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by her son Ron, her granddaughters Anne (Matt) Cooke, Lori (Elbert) Nieves, Becky, and Kristin, her great grandchildren Lily Nieves and Ashlynn, Andrew, Madalynn, and Evelynn Cooke. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles, daughter Janet, her niece Linda, and her sisters Bernice and Beverly. Granny, as she was affectionately known, was a humorous woman who could make friends with any stranger she met. Her warmth and friendliness always left smiles on the faces of anyone with whom she interacted. She married the love of her life at the tender age of 18 and they shared 55 blissful years of marriage. Early in their marriage they moved to Texas and then later to Pittsburgh but Michigan was always home. She happily raised her children in Southgate later moving to Livonia. Nothing was more important to her than family and she joyfully took many trips to visit her family in Washington, D.C and Georgia. When at home, she would often visit with the family local to Michigan and have special sleep overs with each great grandchild. Phone calls would often be ended with “love you more” battles to see who could state their affection more. Typically, Granny would win with “I love you all there is.” We definitely “loved her all there was” and will miss her deeply.
Visitation Sunday, October 30 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, with a Funeral Service at 2:30pm, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road in Livonia. Entombment at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
