Christina was born Christina Yuk Yin Chan on September 18, 1947 in Canton, China to Hon Wing Chan and Wai Ching NG Chan.
Her parents settled in Hong Kong where she attended schools, worked and met and married Dr. Aaron Chan, later immigrating to Canada in 1970. She supported her husband while he attended the University of Saskatoon, in Saskatchewan for four years while he obtained his Canadian degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. They moved to Amherstburg, opened a Veterinary Hospital and later settled in Windsor, Ontario.
She loved to play Mah Jong with friends and was a great strategist with a lively sense of humor.
Christina was a multi-talented, organized and multi-tasking woman, three of her most endearing qualities that will always be remembered.
She was delighted to reconnect with her high school classmates and attend reunions in Hong Kong. Christina’s two best friends, May and Rosanna and her, were nicknamed the Dancing Queens of their class and remained friends their whole life.
Christina was extraordinarily intelligent and loved to laugh and tell stories and explore our world.
On our last trip to Hong Kong, we checked off a bucket-list goal, a group tour with her classmates on a bullet train to visit the countryside. We made a separate trip to the place of her birth in Canton, now called GuangZhou, taking a scenic riverboat trip on the Pearl River.
Christina had a considerate nature and cared for people, especially family and friends and had a special place in her heart for our grandchildren, Canadian and American.
