She was born July 12, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The daughter of Thomas Land and Faye (Richard) Rogers.
Connie worked in many sales roles over the years. Her entrepreneurial spirit, rapport with clients, and negotiation skills carried her well throughout her career and entire life. When she decided to start a family, she continued to utilize her skills by working from home setting up merchants and selling credit card processing equipment for local business owners. In addition to working, Connie was enthusiastic about her volunteer/mentor work, focusing on supporting mothers and families.
As a mother herself, Connie was passionate about her children and truly embraced being a mother. She advocated for the best available resources for their success, cheered them on in their favorite activities – rain or shine, and listened in times of need. When faced with family and motherhood challenges, she navigated with resolve. When she became a grandmother, she chose to be referred to as “Grammy” by her 4 grandkids. She enjoyed spending time with them by taking them out for lunch, shopping trips, and watching them compete in their sports. Additionally, she found solace and contentment in the natural beauty surrounding her home in Waterford, where the sandhill cranes often greeted her at the door for a snack. There she was surrounded by friends whom she forged deep relationships with, the kind you could call at 2 a.m. if you needed help.
Connie is survived by her two children Adam (Tina) and Heather; and four grandchildren, Allison, Tyler, Josie, and Owen. She was preceded in death by her son, Landon; her former husband Roger; her parents; and her brother Larry “Bubba” Land.
Connie will be deeply missed by all who know her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her son Landon at Oakwood Cemetery in Farmington.
