My grandpa was friends with everyone he met. No matter where he went, people were always happy to see him, even if it was just a quick handshake and a piece of candy; his favorite. Thank you for a childhood filled with laughter and more snuck candy than I think anyone actually knows. Thank you for an adulthood founded on never getting old and never letting anyone tell me what I do or don’t know. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present. I love you. 

I have known Chester for 74 years. He was one of the funniest and happiest people I have known. Even as an 8 year old, I always had to smile when he served dinner in Polish Guard Company  4101 in Germany. He was one of the cooks and made everyone laugh. He was also an altar boy at Sunday Mass when a visiting priest would come a couple times a month. My father, Waclaw Madalinski, always thought well of him and after we came to the US, he decided to bring the Romoslawski family to the US also. During the following years we shared all holidays, my parents went for vacation with Chester and Erna and all of us were family. I feel that I and my children have lost a member of our family. 


My dad- my hero. He was the man that I just adored. He always said to me that they could take everything from you but not your knowledge. Here I am a nurse teaching nurses. His faith and teachings from his experiences are firmly ingrained in me. He was so wise. I finally realized as an adult ... how right he is! Thank you Tata for everything you have given me. I promise I will cherish every minute to honor you.

I’ve known Czeslaw for 36 years & every moment I’ve spent  with him was always a learning life experience. His stories always put faith first before reacting.  If everyone would follow his lessons, this world would be so much better! He is my hero! Being in my life made me a better man, father, husband & grandfather. You will always be in my heart!

My grandpa was someone who lit up any room he walked in to. His main goal when talking to someone was to make them smile and laugh. His love for people and genuine heart always shone through with everything he did in life. I will miss his laughter, repetitive( yet always funny)jokes and his deep love for his family and friends. I have been blessed with so many amazing memories and thankful I was able to spend the past 32 years of my life learning from this awesome man.  Papa I miss you, I love you. Thank you for everything.
