David Chandler Johnson Jr.

David married the love of his life, Katherine, on September 21, 1982. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three children who were his pride and joy. He worked for many years as the produce manager at Farmer Jack.

David had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed camping trips, walking, and family vacations to Cedar Point. A true Jeopardy master, he rarely missed a question. He had a passion for reading and listening to audiobooks and was a devoted fan of Michigan State and all Detroit sports teams, especially the Lions, through every high and low season.

More than anything, David cherished his role as a grandfather. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine, and their children: Jennifer (Jason) Gruchala, David (Laura) Johnson III, and Elizabeth (Branden) Johnson. He was a proud grandfather to Nolan, Lucas, Harrison, and David IV.

David also leaves behind his sisters, Barbara (Larry) Scheer and Patricia (Andy) Gauthier; and his brothers-in-law:, Thomas (Sandy) Krause, Timothy (Lee) Krause, Robert (Christine) Krause, Michael Krause, and John (Sherri) Krause.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William (Cindy) Krause.

David will be remembered for his quick wit, deep devotion to family, and the joy he brought into the lives of all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love he so freely gave.
