

DeAnna Joyce Garrett was born on December 1, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Hattie and Otto Kemp. She had four brothers Milton, Erwin, Thomas and Alvin Kemp. DeAnna married Doutsie Garrett in August of 1955. She was a devoted wife for 56 years, mother to her six children, and a wonderful grandmother to her eight grandkids and four great grandkids. Over the years, DeAnna enjoyed traveling with family especially the summer camping trips to Warren Dunes State Park. DeAnna loved life and all the people in her life. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. She loved music and dancing in her younger years. Spending time with family was one of the many joys in her life. She thoroughly enjoyed the time spent wither grand kids and great grand kids.
DeAnna is survived by her children Linda (Kenneth) Johnson, Steven (Vickie) Garrett, Keith (Charlotte) Garrett, John Garrett and Kathy (Steven) Hazergian. She is also survived by her grandchildren Victoria (Todd), Diane (Tim), Patrick, Arron, John Michael (Nicole), Chris, Nicholas and Mikaela, as well as her great grandchildren Marissa, Nathan, Abby and Virginia. Visitation Tuesday 3-9 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Rd., in Livonia. Funeral service Wednesday 10:00 am at the funeral home.
