Dennis Joseph Hussey

Dennis Joseph Hussey, 61, of Redford, passed away peacefully of COPD on February 27, 2025. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Terrence and Arlene Hussey. He is survived by siblings Ann Marie (David) Bishop, Phillip (Lydia), Marty (Susan), Mary Kay (Steven) Sykora and Michelle (Michael) Fritsche. He also was a proud uncle to Emily, Cameron, Ann, Keara, Liam, Kaleigh, Chloe, Keegan, Gavin, Claire and Kayden.

Dennis graduated from Stevenson High School in Livonia and then spent several years enjoying Texas with his aunt, Karen Portwood, while working in the construction field. Upon his return to Michigan, Dennis had a long career in the glass and glazing industry, retiring in 2022 after many years working for Henderson Glass in Livonia.

Dennis was an avid hockey fan. He grew up playing youth hockey, continuing to play into his adult years. He was a loyal Red Wings fan and had an extensive collection of team memorabilia. His favorite hobby was golfing, and he was a regular participant in multiple leagues and tournaments. As his health declined, he continued to golf with family and friends as often as possible. Dennis enjoyed the past several summers of his retirement at his family cottage in Caseville where he treasured his childhood adventures of fishing, waterskiing, boating, golfing and exploring!

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, in accordance with Dennis’ wishes, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society at www.michiganhumane.org in honor of his beloved dogs.
