Great Family Man. All around good person. Don always made me feel welcome and I am sure will be missed by all of the people that knew him.

Don and I were good friend in the wonderful 50's, In Keesevilee NY. We e-mailed often. Didn't always agree,but I loved him anyway. My prayers and Thoughts are with the family.

I graduated from High School with Donald and ,knew him well during high school, but lost touch with him after high school. I remember him as a very personable, congenial and fun-loving lad. He was a good friend of another classmate, Paul Doty, who died earlier this year. Don, Paul, and I performed as a trio in a talent show singing "Let Me Call You Sweetheart". They both came to my house to rehearse because I played piano. My Mom took a picture of the three of us. I still have that picture somewhere and will scan it in and attach as an email if I can find an address for a family member. I seem to recall that Don had a little chem lab at his home and he, and I, and (I think Dick Smith)foolishly tried to make nitro-glycerin and (fortunately)failed to because we didn't know the ingredients had to be mixed in a lead container where lead is a catalyst for the reaction. We had a big laugh over that and how close we came to blowing ourselves to smithereens and how our ignorance saved us from an early death. I wish I had kept in touch with "Bed" but it appears he had a happy and full life with lots of loving children and grand chilren. He is at peace now, but my condolances go out to all who loved him -- he was a loveable fellow.

Dawn and Family,
I'm sorry to hear about your family. I think of those days of your Dad coaching basketball very fondly. Playing sports was a huge part of my growning up. Those teams at Redford/GAZ were my favorite teams. I always thought it waa very giving of your Dad to spend his time with us when we needed a coach. It was a good time in my life. I pray that you and your family find comfort as you go through this sad experience. If it wasn't for people like your Dad sharing their time with us we would not have grown up the way we did!
