Donald E. Gorton, of Livonia, beloved husband of Doris A (Fitzgerald) of 68 years, WWII Navy veteran, former Professor of Accounting at Wayne State University, avid golfer, traveler and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, November 2, 2017 at the age of 91. Don and Doris were blessed to be the parents of Marjorie (Michael) Eckert, Constance (Steve) Gorton, Donald (Patricia) Gorton Jr., Kathleen (Todd) Gorton and Thomas (Carla) Gorton. He is survived by 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and was happily expecting a 15th in January.
The family will receive friends and loved ones Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 2pm until 8pm with a prayer and time of reflection beginning at 7:30pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152. Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11am, a funeral service to be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 16360 Hubbard St. Livonia, MI 48154 with gathering beginning at 10am.
