Edward was the loving husband of the late Ruth. Beloved father of Michael (Ruth) and Charles (Elizabeth). Dear grandfather of Jason, Theresa (Jay) Hahl, Justin and Lindsy Haber-Hempel and great-grandpa of 4. A proud WWII veteran he served in the Philippines before working as a customer engineer for IBM for 35 years.
The Hempel family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday January 14, 2015 from 3-8 pm and Thursday January 15, 2015 from 10am until time of service 12 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh Rd.) in Livonia.
Edward will be laid to rest next to his Ruth at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
