Beth was a wonderfu lady in so many ways. Always ready to help everyone and such fun to be with. She was so proud of her family and loved them all.I will miss her so much. We have been good friends for over 40 years. I will miss our phone calls and visits.Rest in Peace, Beth.

I told you in life that you were an insperation.... to so many!  You always looked nice, and took pride in keeping yourself and home in the same, classy way.  You would just SHINE when you were with our Tessa --- your last, great grand child!!  You talked to me so often about your own child hood -- memory's that I pray I remember, so that as I promised you, I would KEEP YOU ALIVE in Tessa, and she will ALWAYS KNOW her --- Great Grandma Bates!!  We will miss your corn casserole, your storys of your growing up years, and of always being so proud of your one and only son -- Don.  Sadly it had to be so hard to see him pass before you -- you told me that the pain was like no other -- but again in a CLASSY way you said, it happend and I must face it.  To show the others, how to act!  You were a true leader MRs.Great Grandma -- and we will miss that with you.  But we won't forget.  Trudi and I will both keep you ALIVE in our hearts, and in our daughters heart -- forever-- we love you lady -- and always will.

I will always cherish the many memories I have of Grandma(Beth) Bates over the past 30 years. I enjoyed all her stories about her life growing up, Corbin, her dolls & different trips they went on that she shared with me over the years.  She was a wonderful Great Grandma to Caitie & Sean and she loved spending time with them. It was always nice to see your face light up when the grandkids were over visiting. I will never forget our many talks especially the hour I spent with her the night before she was called home.  I will miss you Grandma.  Love, Sher

     I've known Beth Bates for a long time.  I remember Beth and her husband, Jim, from Holy Cross when we were at the previous location; but I didn't get to really know Beth until I started attending the Wednesday Holy Eucharist services. I found out that she often visited her sister in Port Huron and after that I was always asking about her trips to Pt. Huron.

     I loved hearing her stories about her early years as a mother.  She said she worked after her son was born (her husband was in the service) and had to
leave him with her mother in Pt. Hope  She said she worked all week and every weekend she was up north with her son.

     I visited Beth at her condo this past year and was startled to find myself sitting in a room along with all kinds of dolls -- dolls three feet tall, standing there as if waiting to be seated for afternoon tea -- dolls sitting in a corner and dolls sitting on a shelf.  I didn't quite know what to think, so I asked about them.  I found out she made all of them; made their dresses, did their hair, painted their faces.  I enjoyed hearing about the dolls, enjoyed my visit and was saddened by her passing.

More hugs to Rachel and all his kids, kids-in-law and grands - - I'll always remember Beth's outgoing nature and determination :).  So glad she had such a good long life, but very sad that she and Don's passings were so close together. Take care - - looking forward to seeing you all at the memorial.
