When I think about my Uncle Frank, I am reminded of so many memories of pure light and love. Our big family gatherings up in Port Austin were highlights of my childhood. It was just my dad and I alone in the world until my dad married my mom, Uncle Frank’s Niece, Elaine.  Uncle Frank and his sister Nancy (my new Grandma)  accepted us immediately with warmth and candor as if we had always been around. I don’t know if he knew how much this meant to me, but from then on I always thought of him as a hero. As our family continues to grow, his legacy will always be a reminder of how to treat your loved ones with love and compassion, even if it might have been the first time you’ve met them. I am blessed to have known him, and to have had time and memories with him. His loving spirit lives on in his children, many grandchildren, and other family members, and will never be forgotten.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your father.  He clearly left a beautiful legacy, Treasure your memories.  
We were classmates at OLL, I remember him as a great guy with an easygoing smile. 
Sometime in the 90’s, Frank took the time to  reassure me that my son pursuing a degree in Marketing could result in a successful career. Thanks, Frank, you were right!

Such sad news.  My condolences to all of you who loved Frank.  Such a good Dad. I know how much he loved his kids and how proud he was of them ! Such a good man, and friend. I remember , with great gratitude, all the good times,    Many games of basketball, many trips to the White Castle and 1 night in jail.    May all of our happy memories of Frank provide comfort during this time.

Dear Riess family, I was a very good friend of your dad when we were younger. In my eyes I thought he was funny, the coolest and kind. He taught me how to drive. As most things do, life took over and time went by, but as others have said, thank goodness for Facebook because we got back in touch in the mid 2010. God bless you all. He was one of the good ones ! The best Dad and Grandpa there ever was. 
The day I told my Dad that I was having a baby, he hugged me so tight. He wouldn’t let me lift a finger. He continuously told me to sit down and rest and was so protective over me and his grandson. When I was leaving his house he walked me to my car and said “please be careful driving, now there’s 2 precious cargo”.  
He was there when my son was born. He stood right outside that room. The pride on his face when he held my first born (and all 3 of them) for the first time was a moment I’ll never forget. The bond that they shared was something so special. Jackson was his little buddy. Their favorite game was hide and seek, they would play this together for hours. He would babysit every chance he got, I knew no matter what he would be there. He was such a hands on Grandpa. Even when he started to lose his memory, he insisted at Jackson’s 5th birthday that he put together the tool bench he bought him. Although it was a challenge, he did it! And was so proud to do it for his boy. These memories are memories I will hold onto for a lifetime. 

I miss you Daddy.

I'm so sorry to hear about this news.  Frank was such a nice person.  I grew up with Frank on Waterford  Hill. We all had so much fun swimming in his pool every summer.  Frank will be missed by all who knew him.
