Frank was born on August 25, 1934 to Mike and Rose (Ziolkowski) Ritz in the city of Detroit as the oldest of 3 children. Frank is preceded in death by his wife Mary (Morelli) Ritz of 61 years and his daughter Margaret Morelli Sciberras.
He is survived by his children Christina (Melvin) Bevan, Michael (Danielle) Ritz, Patricia (Jeffery) Donatto, and Kenneth Ritz. Loving grandpa of Chelsea (Jordan) Kirsch, Danielle (Zac) Campbell, Alessandra (Nick) Crider, Andrew Donatto, Lauren Ritz, Frank Ritz, Carmen Donatto, and Ben Ritz. Frank is also survived by his two sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family which he loved.
After Frank graduated from Chadsey High School he went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his return from service, he started working at PennCentral Railroad where he worked as a claims adjuster for 25 years. After what we call his first career at the railroad, he began working for Northville Public Schools Special Education, as well as being a real estate agent.
It was at the railroad where he met the love of his life Mary Morelli. It was love at first sight and they were married on May 7, 1960. Frank and Mary went on to have 5 children: Tina, Mike, Margie, Patty, and Kenny. Above all, being a husband, father, and a grandfather were his favorite roles in life. He would do absolutely anything for his family and those he loved.
In 2005, Frank retired and spent his time again with family. He also loved to play cards, play golf on occasion, and never said no to a trip to the casino. He will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to have shared in his extraordinary journey. May he rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors, Shriners, and/or Angela Hospice.
