Fred Flanagan was born on March 14, 1941 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He served as an altar boy at St. Francis Xavier Church as a child. Fred was active in leadership roles in Boy Scouts Troop 3 camp Kootoga, Ripley W. VA. He received the Eagle Scout award, got his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He was hired in 1971 NBD/Chase Bank in Detroit, Michigan. In 1990 he purchased an Arby’s Restaurant and celebrated 58 years of marriage to his wife Elaine Flanagan June 19, 2023.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Flanagan, daughter Hilary Di Lena, son-in-law Paul Di Lena, sister Sheila Gaultier and nieces and nephews.
Visitation, Monday October 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home: 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48152. He will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery.
