Born in Pianoneve, Sicily, Giuseppa spent her early years in the beauty of her homeland before bravely immigrating to the United States at the age of 18, carrying with her the values, resilience, and warmth that would define her life. On October 30, 1958, in Erice, Sicily, she married the love of her life, Cristoforo Guarano, beginning a lifelong partnership built on dedication and family. Cristoforo preceded her in death, but their love story remains a lasting part of her legacy.
Giuseppa was the loving mother of Angelo Guarano, Giuseppe (Kelly) Guarano, and Vito (Kathy) Guarano. Her greatest joy was her family, and she was a proud and cherished Nonna to her six grandchildren: Antoni (Fernadith), Paolo, Francesca, Giovanni, Michael, and Gabrielle, and a devoted great-grandmother to her beloved Chiara, who brought endless light to her later years.
She is also survived by her brother Giuseppe (Ruth) Castiglione. She was preceded in death by her siblings Cristoforo Castiglione, Vito Castiglione, and Santa Savine, as well as her loving parents, Anna and Cristoforo Castiglione.
A talented and meticulous seamstress, Giuseppa specialized in alterations for wedding gowns and formalwear. Through her skilled hands, she helped countless brides and families prepare for some of the most meaningful days of their lives. Many of her clients became lifelong friends, drawn not only to her craftsmanship but to her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit.
A devoted Catholic, Giuseppa’s faith guided her life. She expressed her love through cooking, caring for her home, and, above all, bringing her family together. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love created a foundation that will continue through generations.
