I met Jimmy when I was working for Pheney construction back around 1979.  I was driving the truck delivering the material to the commercial job sites throughout the metro Detroit area. If I remember correctly, Jimmy had just become a Journeyman carpenter with MRCC local 687. What a great guy, always a smile on his face and treated me just like the rest of the guys, with respect.  Subsequently, I worked with him throughout the 80s for DE Hoffman Co and the Omega construction Co into the early 1990s, still treating me with friendship and respect, we would lovingly call him 'Diamond Jim'
  It deeply saddens me, now being June 2024, and I just heard of his passing. God Speed old friend, you were one of the best people I have ever met in my life.

It's been a year and we still miss you! In today's crazy world, we need more people like you down here! I know you're up in heaven looking down on us, say hi to all our loved ones "up there"!

RIP Jimmy miss you very much, I find myself remembering all the life lessons we were a part of. God willing I'll see you again. Love always ❤️🙏

It was truly a pleasure meeting you and hanging out with you during the "CC Hockey days".  And it was even more fun during the MSU days! You were always positive and willing to help in any way, a true gentleman and friend.  

The world will miss you and may you rest in peace in heaven.  You have left a great legacy in Zack, and may God bless your wonderful wife Joanne and son Zack.

Jim was a tremendous husband, father and leader. I coached Zack for three years at CC hockey and Jim was a role model parent. He supported Zack during the ups and downs of the goaltending position.  He never allowed Zack to lean on excuses rather just keep working hard.  He celebrated successes humbly but lovingly.  He also was a tremendous volunteer to our staff running the most complete stats program any high school program could have.  One thing Jim never did is take his standing within our staff to ask or influence decisions on Zack’s playing time.   He had the ultimate trust in his son and in our staff that it would work out the way it should.  What a tremendous message to Zack. I also will always cherish the huge smile on Jim’s face and the pride he wore in that tuxedo for Zack’s wedding.   Jimmy we lost you way too early but what an incredible legacy you left on your family and those you came in contact with.  Prayers for the Cisek’s!!

Jimmy was like a big brother to me. One of my fondest memories was at my wedding. Jimmy hadn’t know my husband, Keith long. Keith is a fun loving guy and a little crazy like Jimmy.
Jimmy walks up to me, gives me a big hug and says you’ve got your hands full. It was our standing joke every time we were all together. So many fun memories of you Jimmy will always be in my heart. You were a great friend and will be missed terribly. Praying for Joanne and Zack in this difficult time. 

I worked with Jim he was a wonderful, hardworking man. So friendly and young at heart. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.

So sad to hear of Jimmy's passing. He was such a nice human being.

One of the best men I have ever met, you came to K2 at a time when we needed someone with your experience and skill.  What we got was so much more, your laughter, your kindness, your stories, made each day so much fun.  I know we didn't always see eye to eye, you were passionate about you work and more importantly you cared about your people and it showed.  I could have worked the rest of my career not seeing eye to eye to with you, it would have been my privilege and blessing to have had that chance again.  There are not many times in our careers where we have the privilege of working with someone like you, I am blessed to have had the opportunity you, to work with you and laugh with you.  You were truly of one a kind and you will be missed.  

Jimmy, we loved you from the moment Joanne introduced you, and you made our family richer the moment you two were married. You were the most selfless, generous person I have ever known, and I am proud to have called you my brother. 

Jim, you left way too early my friend !  I will always cherish the times we spent together brother ! I sincerely mean there will never be another construction project run the way you did it Jim ! May the prayers of all you touched guide you to an every lasting tomorrow brother !

When I was recuperating in the nursing home, they wouldn’t let me have coffee or hot water. So Jimmy would stop by with coffee and a sweet roll from Panera‘s .  He was always there to help at any time.

Loved our CC Cisek times! Jimmy always had a smile on his face and joy in his heart. When the CC baseball team needed dugouts, Jimmy volunteered and took on the project! He loved his wife and was so proud of his State Championship goalie son, Zack! The Thomas Family and Fuller Family (Grandma & Grandpa) will hold you in our prayers! RIP, Jimmy!!!

As a friend of his son we can say he raised a tremendous young man. May god help give you strength and healing. Our deepest condolences to friends and family.
