I’m so sorry to hear that Uncle Jim passed and I’m just now finding out. He was very wonderful and being out in Portland Oregon  has made staying in touch difficult. I hope everyone else is good. Hugs all around and best wishes for all the surviving families. 

Although Jim has passed he is now and always will be in our heart and mind.  He was not only a great supervisor at Ford but also a great friend.  He was one of the "Good Guys" that would stand up for those folks working with him-not for him.  He always talked about his wife and sons and it wasn't until the funeral services that I was able to meet his sons.  Along with Rita it was easy to tell of the Love and Respect that they all have for this man who not only worked hard but came home after work and took the time to be with his family.  He taught them hunting, fishing, trail riding and most importantly, respect for themselves and others.  We can't see Jim anymore but we can never keep him out of our mind and heart.  My deepest sympathy to Rita and each of their sons.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of my last & best boss @ Ford.  He was quite a character.  No matter how hard I tried to beat him into work each morn, don't think I ever did.  If my black coffee was sitting @ my desk .... he needed something soon.  If a paper was in my chair .... didn't have time for coffee.  But if he was waiting @ door w/ paper, it was "Good morn Dear -- I need this yesterday!"  Think I got that one the most (lol)  But no matter how rushed he was to get to a meeting, he always yelled back a "thanks" & for a secretary that always meant a lot.

To The Laird Family -- Please accept my heartfelt condolences.  I'll continue to remember  "James"  thru all the funny times enjoyed w/ him .... all while typing as fast as I ever did.  I always appreciated his kindness & understanding for a single Mom w/ 2 small kids.

We are so sorry to hear of Jims passing. We always enjoyed the visits when he would stop by. Our thought and prayers are with you at this sad time.

I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. My condolences to the entire Laird family. When I hired into Ford Truck in 1985 Jim was one of the few "older" guys who was always willing to help us young engineers learn. Jim was a great role model.

My condolences to Mrs. Laird and the entire family.  I worked with Jim at Ford back in the 70's.  He was always smiling, upbeat, extremely helpful, great problem solver---an extraordinary man.  God bless you Jim.

To my hero, friend and father. Dad you have taught me so much, you have guided me through life problems and joys. You have taught me right from wrong and shown me the way. You always supported me on whatever my dreams were. You allowed me to lean on you when I needed someone.
