Jerome James Gruchala

Jerome “Jay” Gruchala passed away February 5th, 2017. Loving husband of Sharon. Beloved father of Kimberly (Keith) Robertson, Jason (Jennifer) Gruchala, and Ashley (Joseph) Rohde. Cherished grandfather of Kendall, Kyle, Kadyn, Joey, and the late Henry. Dear son-in-law of Rose and the late Henry Fleszar and brother-in-law of Danny (Patty) Fleszar.

Jay graduated from Cody High School in Detroit, Michigan in 1972. He was an electrical estimator for almost 40 years. He was a loyal supporter of the Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers. Jay was the lead guitarist in the band “Nightlife” for much of the 80s and early 90s. Jay and his wife, Sharon, liked to travel to Las Vegas and many of the Casino's in Michigan, church festivals and local restaurants. He enjoyed playing hockey, golfing, bowling and coaching hockey. Jay loved watching his son and grandson play hockey and baseball and his daughters and granddaughters figure skate, dance and cheerlead. He also leaves behind many friends and relatives.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 13th from 4-8 pm and Tuesday, February 14th from 2-8 pm with a Vigil service at 7 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Rd. in Livonia. Funeral Wednesday, February 15th, in state 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:30 am at St. Colette Catholic Church 17600 Newburgh Rd. in Livonia. Jay will be laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
