

Junior Lee Freeman was born January 3, 1926 in Maulden, Missouri, and lived in Brosley, Missouri until moving to Michigan at 18 to begin his working career as a carpenter. He did commercial work all over the Detroit area including Cobo Hall and Joe Louis Arena. Throughout his life, he would remain the fix-it man of his family.
Lee loved going fishing with the people he loved and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very social man and made new friends wherever he went. He will be remembered as a funny, devoted, model husband, father and grandfather; a man after God's own heart. He was a servant and caregiver for his wife Mary and anyone else in need.
Junior was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary and is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is the loving father of Daniel L. (Jolene) Freeman, Stephen J. (Terry) Freeman, Linda (Larry) Boulton and Sue (Marlin) Handstad. He is the beloved grandfather of Jeff, Heather, Deanna, Todd, Karen, Jonathan, David, Ryan, Sarah and Chris and the great grandfather of Hazel, Frederick, Colton, Alex, Andrew, Maggie, Benjamin, Annabelle and one more one the way.
Visitation for Junior will be Tuesday May 24, 2011 at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile in Livonia, Michigan 48152 from 3 pm until 9 pm. The funeral home is located on the north side of Six Mile, east of I-275 and Newburgh roads. His funeral services will be at his beloved church. He will lie in state at the Detroit First Church of the Nazarene from 10 am until his funeral at 11 am on Wednesday May 25, 2011. The church is located at 21260 Haggerty in Northville, Michigan 48167 on the east side of the road and north of Eight Mile Road.
He will be laid to rest with Mary at Mt. Hope Memorial Park in Livonia, Michigan.
Junior's family asks that memorials be made in his honor to Meals on Wheels, Angela Hospice or to the American Heart Association.
