Kalayaan "Nene/Kay" Galang

Kalayaan was the devoted mother of Aissa Marie Galang and a cherished sister to Lita Galang and Sora Galang-Astillero. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emigdio and Sergia Galang, and her siblings: Sumikat Galang, Hizon Galang, Mabini Galang de Vera, Rizal Galang, Bayani Galang, Hirang Galang, and Luna Galang.

Kalayaan had a gift for cooking and found great joy in preparing meals for family and friends. She was known for her incredible dishes, always made with love, and she delighted in sharing her food with everyone around her. Along with her talent in the kitchen, she also had a passion for clearance shopping, always on the hunt for the best deals. Her warmth, generosity, and love for bringing people together will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

An in state will be held Friday, March 14, from 10:30-11:00 am at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy, 8200 N Wayne Rd, Westland, MI 48185, followed by a memorial mass beginning at 11:00 am honor and celebrate Kalayaan’s life.
