

The oldest of five siblings, he was born on November 13, 1933, in Dahod, India, Kanu lived a full and vibrant life marked by curiosity, learning, and deep devotion to family and friends. He built a distinguished career with the State Bank of India, where he was very respected for his dedication and willingness to help all.
Kanu was a lifelong learner with a modern spirit. He had a deep passion for Hindustani classical music, which he listened to with joy and appreciation, and he practiced and taught yoga with great dedication. An avid gardener, photographer and technology enthusiast he delighted in teaching others about his interests and took great joy in sharing what he learned with those around him.
Above all, Kanu was a loving family man and a loyal friend. He cherished time spent with loved ones and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and generosity.
He is survived by his children Nita (Divyang) Desai and Ketan (Bindu) Desai; his grandchildren Mala (Mitchell) Machado, Amit (Jayna) Desai, and Avni (Aseem) Uppal; and his great-grandchildren Niam and Sahil Machado, Asha and Saya Desai, and Subir Uppal.
