Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting shortly after high school. During his four years of service, he worked as an airplane mechanic, a skill that would shape his lifelong career. Following his honorable discharge, Kenneth continued his work in aviation, joining Delta Airlines as a member of Ground Crew. He spent many dedicated years working primarily at Detroit Metro Airport until his retirement in 2003. Never one to sit still for long, Kenneth later worked at Home Depot, where he remained active and engaged until 2018.
Kenneth shared a deep love with his wife, Anita (Rikerd) Rolston. The two met on a blind date arranged by his sister, Marie, and were married in the early 1970s. Together they built a life filled with love and companionship until Anita’s passing in 1999, a loss he carried with him always.
He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Kenneth was an avid reader with a passion for history, especially war history, and could often be found watching documentaries or reading about the past. He also enjoyed crafting model airplanes and ships, a hobby that reflected both his patience. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors whenever he could.
Above all else, Kenneth cherished his family. He is survived by his daughter, Erin (Ryan Viau) Rolston; his beloved grandchildren, Holly Viau and Asher Viau; and his siblings, Marie (David) Kibbe and Calvin Rolston. He took immense pride in his daughter and grandchildren, and they were the center of his world.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Rolston, and his wife, Anita Rolston.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady work ethic, and deep love for his family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
