I had the pleasure of knowing Kim from the time he was a baby. I watched him grow into the man that he was and know that he will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Kim Sanders was a gentleman, father, grandfather, hero who put his life in harms-way when he served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, and most of all a very loving, supportive, understanding, open-minded, and compassionate husband to his beautiful and beloved wife Josephine "Josie" who he met when he was in his early 30's and had been married for 31 years before he closed his eyes forever exactly 2 weeks ago on January 14.
He is a father to his daughter Julia and son Kim Jr. I met and had conversations with Kim every time we meet on many occasions of the Philippine-American community events, the last being the Fundraising Event of the ABM (Ang Bisaya of Michigan) on December 18, 2021, and found him to be an easy person to have an animated conversation. I found out that he loves cars and drives luxury SUV's which possibly a carryover of his love for transportation when he was working as aircraft mechanic with the U.S. Navy, a plum job because of its importance in the defense of our country.
Kim was a person of trust and integrity for he is there most of the time when his wife Josie attended almost all Philippine events and if he is not there, he didn't have any circumspect about Josie's presence because of his unconditional trust and loyalty to his true and only one love.
Kim you are now in the the eternal kingdom of our Maker, please look at us you left behind - your family - and cast your blessings that we continue to live and tread the impeccable footprints you blazed with your well-lived life. Your friend in planet Earth, Benedicto "Ben" Manzano

My favorite laughing memory with Kim was the Asian Rice fest over 2  years ago.  BC before covid.   At the ARF there were so much leftover food from the vendors that they discounted all the prices and practically gave them away.  Well  Kim decided to try to compete with me in buying out all the hot/ spicy noodles from one of the vendors.  She sold out because of kim and me.  Kim and I was laughing so hard trying to out buy each other by getting the most noodles because we thought it was a steal with that price.  We both failed to try sample it first.  Because if we did , that vendor would have never sold out from us.  Well I believe Kim was on his way home driving Josie as usualy from ARF and Josie mentioned he pulled over and distribute all his noodles on 8 mile rd  in Detroit to the police officers that were there.  HAHAHAHA not because of his generosity but because those noodles were so darn HOT that hell would feel cool.  And Josie had me laughing on the floor when I found out what happened because his stomach could not take it.  I was so much in pain laughing because I felt so bad for those police officers who Kim donated to.  Anyway aside from this funny memory.  I truly loved Kim and his sincere heart of gold.  I recognize his heart to serve well in his community.  He served his family well and he was a man of value and integrity.  Not to many man like him left.  He often FB message me of funny trump memes and his political views.  I enjoyed his friendship though it was short lived.  I am grateful for the time that was given for me to know that he is a great man true and sincere.  Until we meet again.  We love you Kim and pray for your family to know Jesus Christ who is the way for us to have eternity with you.

You have given me some of my most favored memories. My first camping trip, my first time to Tennessee, you and your family going up North with my family to stay at my Grannys.  One of my favorites is you getting on me about my bad grade in History class and me telling you it was pointless for me to HAVE to learn it. I lost that debate quickly and have never forgotten that life lesson.  You always made me feel like family, no matter how long I went without seeing you, and I ALWAYS felt comfortable around you. Being around you and Josie has always felt like home. 

I'm thankful for the years of friendship Julia and I have shared, and every single memory I have with you all. 

I know you'll look down on your beautiful family and help guide them through this difficult time. We will be there for them in anyway possible and try to help ease this unbearable pain.

My favorite memory was ,Kim always there to help in any Pilipino events. He will cooked barbecue chicken in a grill in the summer . I remembered also when he put up a tent last June in Kalayaan for the girls to get dressed for the parade.
