So sorry to hear about your Mom.  We had been in contact up until a few years ago by telephone on her birthday and mother's day........I so enjoyed those conversations!  She was a terrific lady, we laughed a lot together.  She will be truly missed by me.

Lorrie had an independent mind and openly expressed her opinions.  She was possessed of a deep strain of optimism that kept her going during two extended periods of her life when she was completely on her own and especially in the last few years when she was afflicted with physical impairments.  The same optimism lay behind her oftentimes stinging, if humorous barbs about people who had given into their old age.  The last time we talked in late December I was encouraged that her voice seemed stronger and her reasoning sharper than it had been a month before.  That she died three months later came as a surprise.  She was a real fighter whom I respected and loved.  Ron Witt, Durham, NC

Grandma Lorrie was a great card player. I remember her visits to Durham and ours to Michigan and--later--to Florida. She loved being with family and always had stories to tell. She had a lovely laugh and a careful, ladylike way about her.

I have many different memories of playing Euchre and Penuchle with Grandma Lorrie.  She had a great sense of humor and I always looked forward to her visits.  She lived a long and very full life and will be missed by me and many others.

Lorrie was a lady, a great hostess, and someone who enjoyed life to the full. I had great fun with her in Sarasota, and I admired the way in which she faced her later years with courage. Our family will miss her.

Mother's passing marks the end of an era. As we go forward we all should be strengthened by her image and her effect on our lives. She lived her years well and will be with us always. Gladys Strain  New York, New York.

We remember many fond occasions with Grandma Lorraine.  She was always the lady, and we envied that her hair was always in place. My last visit was in the garden of her residence, and the sun shown brilliantly on her over 90 face.  We knew both of our times were limited, but she said: "Lets make the best of it."
