Lynn MacDonald

Lynn received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Alma College, where she made many very special and lifelong friends. Following graduation, she worked for The Hartford for over 30 years. At the end of her career, she worked tirelessly as an advocate for those who had sustained catastrophic injuries.

Upon her retirement, Lynn enjoyed traveling, especially internationally, having just been to Paris last fall. She was an avid walker, getting in many miles almost every day, and an avid reader. She continued to participate in the choir at Ward Church, where she cultivated many wonderful friendships. Lynn also loved spending time at her condo in Traverse City. Being by the water brought her much happiness.

But most of all, Lynn loved her family. The time spent with her sisters, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews were the highlights of her life. Our entire family loved Aunt Lynn as did the many people she touched in her lifetime.

Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith MacDonald, grandparents Ben and Sarah Hailstones and Florence and Roderick MacDonald, brother-in-law, Fred Rugg, and great nephew, Grayson Meyers. She is survived by her sisters, Alison Rugg and Donna (Bruce) Gaither, nieces and nephews Sara (Chris) Kaplan, Andrew (Sarah) Rugg, Rebecca (Spencer) Warren, Heather (Eric) Meyers, Eric (Alie) Gaither and her great nieces and nephews, Kendall and Noah Kaplan, Norah and Ellie Rugg, Kylie, Ethan and Harrison Warren, Isabelle and Novah Meyers and Forest Gaither.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. An in state will occur Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 40000 W Six Mile Rd, Northville, Michigan 48168, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park.
